"Explore. Dream. Discover."

By the time you read this, I will be 40,000ft in the air drinking my 10th Coke Zero of the flight, counting down the hours until I land in the mythical (or at least in my mind) city of Dubai.

This stopover marks the beginning of a long awaited and much anticipated journey back to Europe and the U.K, 21 years after my parents whipped me out of school and took me on a 6 month life changing trip around the world. For for a kid who thought the pinnacle of life was two Buzz Bar sundaes from Georgie Pie Glenfield, you could say that I came back with a slightly different perspective... although I must say after two decades, I still think Buzz Bar sundaes are pretty rad.

Over the next 10 weeks, I will be revisiting many of the same places I went to in the 90s as well as exploring the back roads that I probably would have wandered down had my parents let me. To reveal much more will give too much away but from Dubai's super steroid version of St. Lukes to a meeting with 'The Four Tetrarchs' in Venice, invading the quaint English town of Tenterden to blasting some riffs through a wall of vintage Marshall amps, this trip will encompass a pretty wide range of fairly random but hopefully interesting stuff for you all to check in on.

When I walked through the arrival gates at Auckland Airport in December of 1995, I was a different kid to the one that had left.

Ever since that day, I had a wish to go back and do it all again.

Now I'm on my way.

Bring it on!
